Castle Privacy & Data Protection Policy

This policy explains how Castle handles data for viewers across India. Castle is a family-centred entertainment directory built for the living-room screen, and the same care that goes into the experience goes into keeping it private. The policy is prepared in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000, and it applies whether Castle is opened on an Android phone, an Android TV, or a Fire TV Stick in the family living room.

Free to watch, with nothing to register

Castle is free to use, and it asks for no account. There is no sign-up form, no email or phone number to hand over, and no personal profile built in the background. Every member of the household browses the directory, opens a film, and starts 1080p Full HD playback as a guest. Because no identity is collected in the first place, there is nothing about any viewer that could later be exposed, sold, or lost. Keeping the living room private begins with not gathering the data at all.

Language preferences, kept on your device

To serve India's many languages, Castle lets you set a preference across Hindi, English, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. That choice is written only to the local storage on your own device. Castle does not compile it into a household profile or a behavioural record. Instead, the preference quietly shapes the home-screen rows you see first, matches regional audio where a title offers it, and brings the right subtitles forward in the player, all without sending viewing habits to any outside advertising network.

The technical data the app reads

So that playback stays smooth across the wide range of Android devices in Indian homes, Castle reads a small set of non-identifying technical details: the device model, the installed Android version, the screen resolution, and available memory. These describe the device rather than the person using it, and they let the player match stream quality to the hardware so a family movie night is not interrupted by needless buffering. None of this can be traced back to an individual viewer.

Advertising

Castle is kept free through light, standard advertising supplied by established third-party networks such as Google AdMob. These networks may use the anonymous Android Advertising ID to manage how often an ad appears; that identifier carries no name, address, or contact detail, and its use is governed by each network's own privacy policy. You can reset it or switch it off at any time in your Android privacy settings. Castle itself builds no advertising profile of you and shares no viewing history for ad targeting.

Desktop use and sandbox isolation

Castle is built natively and only for Android, including Android phones, Android TVs, and Fire TV Stick devices. It is not a native Windows or macOS application. Where a viewer runs the Castle APK on a desktop through a third-party Android emulator such as BlueStacks or LDPlayer, it operates inside that emulator's isolated sandbox. Castle cannot read, scan, or alter the host computer's own operating system, local drives, browser history, or personal files.

Your data rights and the Grievance Officer

Because everything Castle stores sits on your own device, you keep full control of it. Clearing the app's cache or wiping its storage from the Android settings menu removes saved search history, tokens, and language preferences at once, and uninstalling removes the rest. In keeping with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, Castle has appointed a Grievance Officer to handle privacy concerns. A request lodged through our online support portal is acknowledged within 24 hours and reviewed within the statutory 15-day window.
